1. He said it was like finding a dead cat on the sofa. This simile reveals about the pilots state of mind is that he doesn't feel any pain and he really doesn't take things seriously.

2. The repetition "Im going to pass out" heightens the suspense of the story because it makes you want to read more in the story.

3. The pilot is afraid that he will land in the water because if he falls into the water  of France something might happen to him because France is England's enemy.

4. I think the pilot was about to die and fell into the water. 

5. In the story the battle means The Battle of Great Britain.

6. They signify terrorist and she is worried.

7. He was probably going to saw that he saw what happened. 

8. He is kind of careless like he doesn't take things seriously.

9. He now knows that there is a difference in is culture.

10. The pilot will take more things seriously.

11. He know that it was important and was right so he said nothing.
